So your new computer has one of those fancy-schmancy new Solid State Drives (SSD) instead of a traditional
Hard Disk Drive (HDD). But you are wondering if you need to keep the Intel® SSD Toolbox installed.
Quick answer: YES! Leave it installed! Leave it configured to run about once per week.
If your system has a SSD instead of a HDD, you would be very wise to leave this installed. The way a SSD
functions, this utility will optimize the SSD every so often, about once a week is good. Otherwise your nice
zippy SSD (roughly 5x quicker than a HDD) will deteriorate in performance over time (about a year), and become
much slower than even an old HDD. Put another way, this utility REPLACES the need to defragment like you may
have done with a HDD.
